Household tasks in your NDIS plan, explained
If your plan funds household tasks, you can get help with jobs like cleaning, laundry and keeping the yard under control. Here's how it usually works.

In short
- Household tasks are funded when the NDIA decides you need them because of your disability.
- Price limits: $60.10 an hour for house cleaning and $59.01 an hour for house or yard maintenance (from 24 September 2026).
- Agree the jobs, the times and the price in writing before help starts.
What household tasks can include
- general cleaning
- laundry and changing beds
- lawn mowing, gardening and general yard upkeep
What's funded for you depends on your plan. The NDIA decides, based on your disability-related needs.
What it costs
For NDIA-managed and plan-managed participants, the NDIA sets maximum prices. From 24 September 2026 the national price limits are $60.10 an hour for house cleaning and other household activities, and $59.01 an hour for house or yard maintenance. NDIA pricing arrangements (opens in a new tab)

- What happens if a visit has to be cancelled
- Who to call if something isn't right
